J. Sumner and S. Llewelyn
Abstract
In this article the authors discuss the evolution of organic agriculture that promotes a holistic system that cares for soil, plants, animals, people and communities. They explore the gender issues related to organic farming through the data from existing studies and observations with organic farmers in southern Ontario. The authors explain that equitable gender relations are important to sustainable agriculture, communities, and food systems.
