The past ten years have been a very interesting time for the growth and development of Canada’s organic sector. Dr. Ralph Martin has had a large influence on the organic sector through his vision and determination to establish the OACC. His leadership in facilitating national coordination of organic research, university level education, and extension has advanced the science of organic while serving the interests of producers and other industry stakeholders. I feel privileged to have been part of the OACC during this exciting time in agriculture, and thank Ralph for the opportunity and leadership that he provided; I wish Ralph the very best in his future endeavours. I thank the NSAC for providing me with this opportunity to lead OACC in supporting the organic sector through ongoing collaboration with industry, university and AAFC partners. The spirit of collaboration is unprecedented and we will see significant advances in organic science in the coming years.

OACC has developed in positive ways I didn't imagine in 2001 and this is largely due to our excellent staff and collaboration with so many partners across Canada. It has been a journey of realizing possibilities. Thank-you to all my colleagues who contributed to OACC projects in the first 10 years. I have confidence that Andy's leadership, with support from OACC staff, the OACC Advisory Board and all of our partners, will enhance organic research and education in the service of many practitioners across Canada, in the next decade and beyond. Bon voyage on the next stage of the journey!
