Paddy Doherty awarded the 2010 BC Award for Excellence in Agriculture Leadership from the BC Agriculture Council.

Paddy Doherty has provided critical leadership as organics grew from a lifestyle to a sector with provincial, national and world-wide recognition. In the early 1990’s Paddy helped develop provincial organic standards and was the first president of the Certified Organic Associations of BC. While president, he secured funding for the Organic Sector Development Program. Paddy was also involved in developing national organic standards, which opened export markets to Canadian farmers. He has held key posts with the International Foundation for Organic Agriculture Movement and the International Organization for Standardization.
